Tour de France 2018 Provisional Start List

The 2018 Tour de France kicks off on Saturday, July 7, in Noirmoitier en l’Île and finishes in Paris on Sunday, July 29.

While the WorldTour teams have automatic entry into the Tour, the wildcard teams are hand-picked by ASO, with Fortuneo-Samsix, Cofidis, Direct Energie, and Wanty-Groupe Gobert making the cut

The 2017 Tour was won by Chris Froome (Team Sky), claiming his fourth victory in the race. The British rider will return in 2018 to attempt a fifth victory and will likely face opposition from Nairo Quintana (Movistar), Romain Bardet (Ag2r La Mondiale), Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) and Richie Porte (BMC Racing).

The full start list for the 2018 Tour de France will only be announced in the week before the race, but teams are already a long way towards selecting their eight riders for the race and most of the top GC contenders already confirmed.
